Bring Mindfulness to Life & shape
your Body now.
There are four main concepts within traditional Chinese medicine that explain all aspects of life.
Chi: Chi is our vital energy. Chi can be depleted or become excessive through poor eating habits, poor lifestyle and negative emotions. If the balance of Chi becomes irregular, disharmony occurs. Stress and tension are the primary causes of the depletion of Chi. Exercise, followed by deep relaxation is an excellent way to re-balance the body, rejuvenate and consolidate Chi.
Yin and Yang: Yin and Yang are complementary opposite states of energy that are in constant motion, striving to achieve balance in all things. Like nature, the body is constantly moving, transforming and changing. Imbalance occurs when there is resistance to this natural ebb and flow, causing an excess or deficiency of either Yin or Yang.
The Five Elements of Nature: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are five movements within nature through which the yin and yang energies are expressed. Each element correlates with the five internal organ partnerships and the seasons, having many unique characteristics that are direct reflections of all nature. Our goal is to align our body’s energy and our life’s activities with these patterns of nature.
For thousands of years, ancient philosophies have understood that colour is a powerful universal healing force. Each colour has a vibration and association with a body part, emotion and life challenge. Fragrances and essential oils have also been credited for their ability to heal physical ailments and transform the mind and emotions.
There are two aspects to colour and aromatic healing. We may be drawn to a colour and fragrance that is a reflection of the positive part of ourselves, our health and our lives at that particular moment in time. Or, we may have an aversion to a particular ChiBall™ colour or fragrance which is often the colour we need to restore balance.
Colour therapy and essential oils have the capability of cleansing negative vibrations in our Auric (or electromagnetic) field and producing new positive ones, thereby rebalancing negative emotions and prompting a healing process in the body’s systems.
The philosophy of colour and aromatic therapy can be used with traditional Chinese medicine’s theory of the five elements.
The ChiBall™ exercises are based on the following movement disciplines:
Tai Chi and Qi Gong cleanses, rejuvenates and refreshes the internal body by regulating the breath and meridian system. .
ChiBall™ Dance invigorates the metabolism, and generates mobility and flexibility using energetic, gentle, slow, continuous movement patterns for detoxification and to increase oxygen supply to the muscles, the brain and other internal systems.
Yoga increases strength, flexibility, concentration, balance and self-awareness.
Pilates develops core strength, supports the spine, stabilises the pelvis and increases the mobility of the joints.
Feldenkrais Method helps us rediscover the effortless movement patterns of childhood, and cultivate the art of listening, letting go and learning from ourselves about ourselves.
Deep Relaxation and Meditation induces calmness of mind and body through deep breathing, visualisation and meditation.
Our internal organs and body systems also resonate with each seasonal energy. During each season, the organs present themselves for an annual service of internal cleansing and healing. Exercises that move, massage, stimulate and stretch the organs and their associated meridian channels have a deeply tonifying effect, and with regular practice, can help us to sustain a more balanced and harmonious state of health throughout the year.
